![]() Someone responded they would pass the info along, and I'm putting this out in case anyone wants to join in on asking for this feature. TL:DR - I offered a suggestion to Insta360 to update a very good VR viewer app for the Oculus headsets. I thought I'd toss this topic out here on the applicable subreddits, in case anyone wanted to join in expressing interest in having this really valuable facility re-implemented for use with a wider range of Insta360 cameras on more modern Oculus headsets. An Insta360 person replied, and said they would pass that information on to the development org that had worked on the app: In the Insta360 forums, I checked to see if anyone had asked about Oculus integration, and submitted a reply to one question, with a description of the AppLab program. Mostly games, but it's not limited to just playtime apps. There are already dozens of apps, many published to the SideQuest repository. I was disappointed when the One R came out and I found that the app wasn't compatible with that new camera, and was even more disappointed when I found that Oculus had refused to allow an updated version of the app into the Quest app store.Īs of last week, Oculus has now opened up an 'AppLab' feature and process, whereby 3rd parties can submit apps for a quick review, and then publish them for installation as 'valid' apps. I was able to use the One X WIFI to connect to, and the Oculus app would view/download the media onto the headset for future viewing. I found that app to be a great tool for end-of-day checking for photos and videos I took on vacation. I recently cruised the Insta360 forums to see if anyone had been asking about updates to the old viewer app they had provided for the One X/Oculus Go headset.
